Biography

Dr. Rik Das pursued a broad range of research interests in the domain of machine learning and deep learning applications for content based image identification. He is an Assistant Professor, Department of Information Technology, Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi, Jharkhand, India. Dr. Das is a PhD from University of Calcutta and has pursued his M.Tech in Information Technology from the same University. He did his B.E. in Information Technology from University of Burdwan. His research spans multiple interdisciplinary approaches and has won accolades in the research community for manifold applications. Dr. Das has more than 10 years of research experience and 16 years of teaching experience. He has 24 International publications till date with reputed publishers, namely, IEEE, Springer, Emerald, Inderscience and so on. He is a reviewer for leading Journals, such as, Journal of Visual Communication and Image Representation, Elsevier, Transactions on Mutimedia, IEEE, LNCS Transactions on Computational Science, Springer etc. He has carried out collaborative research work with Institutions in India and abroad. He frequently delivers invited sessions on Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning in Industry and Academia. He has also chaired sessions in International Conferences on Image Processing and has acted as a resource person in refresher courses on Information Technology. He is associated as a PhD Supervisor with reputed Universities and is guiding multiple PhD scholars for quality research output. Dr. Rik Das is always open to discuss new research ideas for collaborative research work and for techno-managerial consultancies.

Dr. Mahua Banerjee heads the Department of Information Technology, Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi. She did her graduation from Bethune College, Kolkata in Physics Honours. She did her Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Application (PGDCA) from Xavier Institute of Social Service, Ranchi & Masters in Computer Application from IGNOU. Thereafter she completed her Ph.D. in Computer Science from Indian School of Mines (IIT), Dhanbad. Her research area was in Software Engineering. Since 1990, she is teaching the Post Graduate students in different topics like Procedure Oriented Programming, Object Oriented Programming, Database Management Systems, Data Structure & Algorithm, Data Communication & Networking, Operations & Production Management etc. She has around 11 National & International publications in journals and proceedings. She has also authored books on Modular Programming with reputed International publishers. She has reviewed several books in C & C++ Programming, Data Structure Algorithm and Data Communication Networking of Tata McGraw Hill Publication. Her research interest includes Software Engineering & Modular Programming. 

Dr. Sourav De did his Bachelors in Information Technology from The University of Burdwan, Burdwan, India in 2002. He did his Masters in Information Technology from West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata, India in 2005. He completed PhD in Computer Science and Technology from Indian Institute of Engineering & Technology, Shibpur, Howrah, India in 2015. He is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science & Engineering Department in Cooch Behar Government Engineering College, West Bengal. Previous to this, he was an Assistant Professor for more than ten years in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology of University Institute of Technology, The University of Burdwan, Burdwan, India. He served as a Junior Programmer in Apices Consultancy Private Limited, Kolkata, India in 2005. He is a co-author of one book and the co-editor of 6 books and has more than 38 research publications in internationally reputed journals, international edited books, and international IEEE conference proceedings and one patent to his credit. He served as a reviewer in several International IEEE conferences and also in several international editorial books. He also served as a reviewer in some reputed international journals, like, Applied Soft Computing, Elsevier, B. V., Knowledge-Based Systems, Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering Imaging & Visualization, Inderscience Journals, etc. He has been the member of the organizing and technical program committees of several national and international conferences. He has been invited to different seminars as an expert speaker. His research interests include soft computing, pattern recognition, image processing, and data mining. Dr. De is a member of IEEE, ACM, Computer Science Teachers Association (CSTA), Institute of Engineers and IAENG, Hong Kong. He is a life member of ISTE, India.
