The Communicating China series has three inter-related themes: communication coming from China’s different actors to the world; the sources (re)shaping the narratives; and the perception, reception and representation of China around the world. Works in the series examine the narratives, image building, public diplomacy, propaganda, soft power, changing domestic/external drives behind China’s practices, and how different regions of the world receive and communicate China in their political, socio-economic and cultural contexts, as well as the agents, platforms and instruments of this communication. The series invites contributions from scholars across multiple disciplines, including international relations, politics, media and communication studies, journalism, cultural studies, film and screen studies, China studies, and history. It welcomes contributions from early career researches to established scholars, as well as practitioners and think-tank researchers.
