Permissions for Books & Journals

Books

If you are seeking permission to upload a single chapter of material onto an institutional repository, departmental website or academic social network please refer to Section 2 of our  Open Access Book Chapters policy first.

For all other requests to use material from a Taylor & Francis Group book (incorporating the Routledge, Focal Press, Prufrock Press, Psychology Press, CRC Press and Productivity Press imprints and Apple Academic Press titles) in English or another language for any of the reasons below:

  • Permission to use or republish a small selection of text, chapters, figures, tables, illustrations or images from a Taylor & Francis book.
  • Permission to use material from a Taylor & Francis Group book in an academic dissertation or thesis.
  • A Taylor & Francis Group book author seeking permission to republish your own material in another publication: Authors, editors, or contributors requesting permission to republish their own material from a Taylor & Francis Group book will normally be granted permission free-of-charge when the total amount of material being requested is no more than one chapter or less than 10% of the book. However, an application for permission is still required and any request submitted for more than one chapter or over 10% of a book will result in a quote for a licensing fee being generated. Authors, editors or contributors looking to republish their own material must indicate this when submitting a permission request via the Copyright Clearance Center (CCC) or PLSClear, otherwise a licensing fee will be quoted. For advice on how to submit your request correctly via these platforms, please contact the CCC or PLSClear directly.

You can apply for permission in the following ways:

Option A (processing time 3-5 working days):

Journals

How can I request permission to photocopy, republish or translate material from a journal?

We are partnered with the Copyright Clearance Center to meet your licensing needs. You can now obtain permission to reuse our journal content quickly and easily directly from our website,  Taylor & Francis Online .

On any article page you can see a Reprints and Permissions tab. This will give you the option to order reprints or request permissions for this article through the Copyright Clearance Center’s RightsLink® service. RightsLink enables you to obtain instant price quotes, place orders, and track all of your licensing activity in real-time.

For questions about using RightsLink, please contact their Customer Care team via phone 877/622-5543 (toll free inside U.S. only) or +1 978/777-9929, or e-mail [email protected]

If you wish your request to be dealt with by Taylor & Francis please submit our permission form. This can be found on our website, www.tandfonline.com, by locating the abstract of the desired content and clicking the reprints and permissions tab.
